A Synodal Parish
To be open to the voice of God speaking synodally within our parish as well as through our Bishop.
By now we are getting the idea that discerning together the will of God is something we want and need to be doing. We know that Pope Francis wants us to do it. What none of us are quite clear about is what is the best way of doing it in a parish, and in our parish in particular.
To come up with answers which are true implementations of the mind of the Synod on Synodality expressed by their report following the 2023 session is not an easy task. It takes a lot of reading and reflection, and the second part of the Synod is still to happen.
Each of us can look at the texts that come from the Synod so far and reflect on them. There are two texts following the 2023 Synod, the full text which can be found by clicking here, and a summary of that text which can be found by clicking here.
In the meantime let us follow the advice of St Benedict and simply do our best to listen.
